Mumbai Games Chess Event

  1. Format
    1. The Chess tournament will be conducted on Swiss-League basis.
    2. Each player will play min. 6 or more rounds depending on the total number of entries.
    3. Each player will get 20 minutes. (Total 40 minutes per round)

  3. Points
    1. Following points system will be used for all the rounds -
      1. Win - 1 point
      2. Loss - 0 point
      3. Draw - ½ point
    2. In case of a tie, progressive score total will be counted
      1. Even then if there is a tie, cut-progressive score will be counted
      2. Even then if there is a tie, winner will be decided on the basis of toss.
    3. Medals will be awarded only to the 1st 3 positions. Only points for the fourth position will be considered in order to calculate the Team points.
    4. ALL other Standard rules of Chess may apply.
    5. Zone Points for each position for Mumbai Games champions trophy will be awarded in the following way –
      1. Gold – 100 points
      2. Silver – 75 points
      3. Bronze – 50 points
      4. Fourth place – 25 Points
  4. OTHER RULES
    • Players will NOT be allowed to enter the venue without an ID proof.
    • Players should always wear their Mumbai Games BIB.
    • Players found without the BIBs will be disqualified.
    • If a player does NOT show up for 2 consecutive rounds, he will be disqualified
    • All the equipments will be provided at the venue.
    • Please report to the tournament director/organizer at least 60 minutes before the scheduled time.
    • Players have to register at the registration desk at least 30 min prior to the start of their round.
    • Audience and supporters are not allowed on the playing area.
    • Players have to clarify the rules with the referee before the start of the match.
    • No abusive language or arguments will be allowed. If found so the player/team will be disqualified.
    • In case of dispute, players have to submit a formal written complaint within 15 minutes from the occurrence of the dispute.
    • The Referees decision will be final and binding for all matters pertaining to the event/tournament

RULES AND REGULATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. REFEREES AND ORGANIZERS DECISION WILL BE FINAL AND BINDING.
ALL TECHNICAL RULES WILL BE CLARIFIED AT THE EVENT DAY.
